Das Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI)
(Federal Office for Information Security)

Every issue of “<kes> - The Information Security Journal” contains the official “voice” of the BSI in the form of the “BSI Forum”. Here, experts from the BSI and guest authors comment on current issues in security. The “Official notifications” section of the journal publishes IT security certificates and announces successful IT security evaluations. The BSI also publishes studies and conference proceedings through SecuMedia Verlag.

The BSI is the German government’s central IT security service provider. Its products and services are directed at users and manufacturers of information technology. First and foremost among these are public administrations at the national, regional and municipal level, but the BSI also caters for the needs of companies and private users. As the national security authority, the BSI’s aim is to promote IT security in Germany so that all the opportunities presented by the information society can be fully utilised.
